In an address to the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul underscored the need for reform within the United Nations and emphasized the importance of multilateral cooperation. Anutin argued that peace is not merely the absence of conflict but requires active cooperation and dialogue among countries. He highlighted Thailand’s commitment to resolving regional disputes through conversation, particularly in its ongoing issues with Cambodia. Anutin pointed out that discussions around maritime delimitation should be conducted under the guidance of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.
The Prime Minister also reaffirmed Thailand’s support for peace and national reconciliation efforts in Myanmar. He extended this sentiment to other conflict areas, such as Palestine, advocating for peaceful methods in conflict resolution.
