Rupert Grint is gearing up to revisit the iconic role of Ron Weasley in the Broadway iteration of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, marking his return to the character over ten years after the Harry Potter film saga wrapped up. The beloved actor, who shared the screen with Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson in the blockbuster series, will take to the stage for a 17-week engagement starting in February 2027.
Reflecting on his longstanding connection with the character, Grint shared, “Ron Weasley has been a part of me since I was 11 years old and I can’t wait to meet him again at this stage of life.” He expressed excitement about stepping back into Ron’s shoes as both he and the character navigate fatherhood, bringing a blend of nostalgia and novelty to the experience.
The news of Grint’s return comes on the heels of Tom Felton’s recent performance as Draco Malfoy in the same Broadway production. Felton, who also reprised his role from the films, will continue to enchant audiences with his portrayal until January.

Grint’s Broadway return follows his debut in the 2014 comedy It’s Only a Play, adding to a diverse acting portfolio that includes projects like Knock at the Cabin, Charlie Countryman, and Nightborn. His reentry into the wizarding world coincides with the development of a new Harry Potter television series for HBO, aimed at introducing the magical saga to a fresh audience.
