In Hà Nội, the third meeting of Vietnam’s 14th Party Central Committee commenced, steered by the Party General Secretary and State President, Tô Lâm. This gathering, set to span five days, is dedicated to advancing the resolutions established during the 14th National Party Congress. The agenda emphasizes enhancing Party governance, reforming the political system, and expediting national development efforts.

The committee is concentrating on 13 critical policy areas. These include reforms in State governance and land laws, along with plans for economic restructuring. Additionally, the focus is on fostering growth through technology, ensuring robust environmental protection, and maintaining national security. Part of the discussions will also evaluate the new political system’s performance and the two-tier local administration model. Proposals are on the table to elevate Quảng Ninh and Bắc Ninh to the status of centrally governed cities.

During the proceedings, Tô Lâm urged for decisions that are both practical and geared towards action, aiming to eliminate obstacles to development. He stressed the importance of unlocking national resources and enhancing public service delivery. Tô Lâm highlighted the necessity for resolutions to be promptly transformed into tangible implementation plans, complete with specific responsibilities, timelines, and measurable outcomes.
