A recent NIDA Poll conducted before the flooding from September 18 to 23 indicates a decline in political support, with only 13.76% of respondents naming Anutin as their preferred prime minister, down from 21.68% in the previous quarter. Support for the Bhumjaithai Party also decreased from 17% to 12.08%.
The survey’s timing is notable because it does not capture public sentiment regarding the government’s current flood response, which could influence future polling outcomes. For now, the immediate focus remains on managing relief operations, improving public warnings, and supporting affected communities as Bangkok grapples with the impacts of the flooding.
