Pheu Thai has questioned the government’s extensive reshuffling of senior civil servants, warning that the rapid changes may be politically motivated ahead of future elections. According to party spokesman Suksit Srichomkwan, 89 high-ranking officials were transferred within the government’s first month in office, rising to 122 within just over two months. The total is expected to reach around 300 by the end of the month.
Most transfers have taken place within the Interior Ministry, with additional changes at the Agriculture and Cooperatives Ministry and the Office of the Prime Minister. Pheu Thai noted that several posts affected are connected to major legal cases, raising further concerns about the motivations behind the decisions.
The party also questioned the abrupt replacements in key departments, including the Office of National Water Resources and the Lands Department—where a director-general was moved only six days after taking office, triggering further reshuffles in Buri Ram.
Pheu Thai urged the public to monitor whether the transfers follow legal procedures, suggesting the moves may relate to budget control or attempts to gain political advantage ahead of a potential election. The party stated it is fully prepared for the next poll, with candidates already launched in more than 250 constituencies.
